Below are common questions about how lessons, packages, and learning routes work at Akademia Academy.
The Starter/Checkpoint Session is not free. For the best value, we recommend purchasing a package, because your first lesson is used as a Starter Session (new students) or a Checkpoint Session (transferring students). This ensures your tutor can confirm your level and build the best learning route before continuing.Example: You purchase an 8-lesson package. Lesson 1 becomes your Starter Session, and lessons 2–8 follow the plan your tutor sets.
A 30-minute Focus Session is a targeted session designed for drills and micro-tasks—such as speaking practice, pronunciation clarity, targeted grammar correction, quick writing checks/edits, reading comprehension checks, and vocabulary reinforcement. It is not intended for full deep-cycle lessons that require extended coaching time (for example, long writing feedback plus rewriting in one sitting). If your goal is deeper instruction, full-cycle progress, or longer feedback loops, a 50-minute lesson is the best fit.
You begin with a Checkpoint Session (lesson 1 in your package). Your tutor identifies what you already know, what’s missing, and what will move you forward fastest—so you don’t repeat content unnecessarily.Example: If you already practiced interview answers, your tutor may shift the focus to fluency under pressure + correction.
You’ll confirm goals, do a quick level check (speaking-focused), identify your biggest improvement target, and agree on a clear lesson route and structure moving forward.Example: Goal = “business speaking.” Target identified = meeting structure + confident phrasing, so your route becomes roleplays + corrections.
Lessons are delivered online and tailored to your goals. We currently offer English tutoring only, and we prioritize flexibility—your lesson focus can adjust based on your schedule and needs while still following a clear plan.Example: One week you focus on speaking for meetings; the next week you shift to email correction because you have urgent work communication.
Most lessons include a short warm-up, focused skill practice (speaking/writing/business), guided correction, and a clear takeaway (phrases, structure, and a next-step task).Example: You practice a short presentation → receive corrections → repeat with improvements → leave with a phrase bank.
Packages give you a set number of lessons you can schedule flexibly. You book the package once, then schedule sessions around your availability while following a structured route.Example: You buy 16 lessons, schedule 2 per week, then reduce to 1 during travel and increase again afterward.
Yes. Packages are designed so you can combine lesson focuses based on your needs, and your tutor helps you decide the best split after the Starter/Checkpoint lesson.Example: In a 10-lesson package: 6 Business English lesson + 4 Exam Preparation lessons.
Yes—homework is realistic and matched to your schedule. It typically reinforces what you practiced in class and prepares you for the next session.Example: After a fluency lesson, you submit a 2-minute voice note using your target phrases.
Feedback is integrated into lessons and may include correction notes, improved versions of your sentences, and key language to reuse—depending on your program focus.Example: You write a short email → receive a corrected version + a tone checklist → rewrite it with guidance.
It depends on your goal and deadline, but consistency matters more than intensity. Your tutor will recommend a pace after your Starter/Checkpoint lesson.Example: For steady progress: 1–2 per week. For a short deadline: 2–3 per week for a limited period.
A stable internet connection, a microphone, and a quiet space are recommended. Lesson materials and notes are provided digitally so you can review between lessons.Example: You join from a laptop with headphones; your tutor shares a document with corrections and a phrase bank.
Full policy details will be available on the Policies & Guidelines page. If you have questions before booking, message us and we’ll direct you to the correct rule.Example: If you travel often, you’ll check the rescheduling rule before changing lesson times.
